  1. I got this email today. I might have had something to do with it.
  2. To be honest, whatever was supposed to be sent was an attempt to provide support for the cheap crap that they had sent me. Shortly after these were ordered, I got a prescription for MegaMax, which I got changed to MegaMax Lite. The really bad thing is that I can't even donate these, because there is no packaging and they are "underwear." If they were at least regular plastic pants, I could use them for extra odor control. Plus they have no or very little working knowledge of adult diapers and accessories. One of my sisters is a nurse and has worked exclusively in nursing homes and she is stuck using cheap diapers because of rules and regulations. Adam at NorthShore was or is trying to change that.
  3. https://www.medline.com/product/Reusable-Impervious-Adult-Briefs/Z05-PF137899? Um, yeah... OK, I was sent 2 dozen of these. They were sent in a poorly taped closed cardboard box. They were in no packaging. There is no label on the whatever it is. No care instructions included. I have no idea if bleach can be used, if they can be tossed in a dryer, or any laundering instructions. I'm not sure if they are even the right size. I emailed the company that they came from complaining. I sent a message to the pharmacist about the company. I was expecting something more like this https://www.medline.com/ce/product/DMI-Protective-Underwear/Z05-PF299302?sku=MDPMBH6070001923 Crappy plasticish panties.
  4. I hope you can get your issues resolved.
  5. I forgot to update this one. Thanks to Adam at NorthShore, I was able to get the Pharmacist the info she needed. Now as soon as NorthShore sends them to the VA, and the VA sends them to me, I'll be getting some NorthShore diapers every month. At least until March next year, when the VA changes to some new system. On the other hand, my Senator is apparently going to bring this up somewhere, probably the Veterans Affairs Committee. Here's hoping for some changes.
  6. I heard back from the Head of the local VA Pharmacy, who is still trying to get me some NorthShore diapers. It seems that NorthShore isn't NorthShore for Federal Government concerns. She believes that she will be able to get them eventually, but the VA is currently in the process of changing to a new electronic record system and that will most likely end her ability to direct order them from NorthShore. On the other hand she is sending me some sort of diaper cover.
  7. I think I would prefer a medium blue or red. Grey just makes me think of dirty dingy water.
  8. I would try the BetterDry, either samples or one package at least. Don't forget to add in the cost of the boosters.
  9. I went to take your survey, but I'm not urinary incontinent. I'm bowel incontinent so the questions weren't right.
  10. Instead of going cheaper, where you might end up using 5 or 6 a day. I would suggest looking for one that is around £1 each, where you could go down to 3 or 4 a day. It might end up a bit cheaper in the long run, but will also mean fewer changes. Plus as diapers get cheaper, the quality in construction goes down too. That means less odor control, cheaper materials, more chance of the diaper loosening as you move around. Not much worse than trying to hold your diaper on through your clothes. And yes I've had to do that.
  11. Make sure you clean thoroughly during each change. Make sure to wash thoroughly when you bathe. Stay hydrated. It may sound counter intuitive, but if you are dehydrated your urine becomes more concentrated and more likely to cause problems. Also smellier. Most importantly remember that people are too involved with themselves to notice what kind of underwear you have on. Lastly, with adult diapers you get what you pay for. Cheap is just that, cheap. You'll get a bad fit, leaks, falling off, all sorts of problems. That doesn't mean you need the most expensive diapers, but you certainly don't want the cheapest.
  12. For the same reason that they think the flimsy elastic that they use will hold their products up. I gave an AB friend one of the Attends Pullups, diapers and Tranquility SmartCore diapers the VA sent me, this was his response I told him I was working on it.
  13. I just got a "case" of 96 Molicare Premium Elastic 8D cloth backed diapers. I put the case in quotes because 72 appears to be a retail case. I got two oversized boxes with two packages of 24 diapers each. These have a strange design, and I can see what they were trying to do. Sadly they failed. The front panel is only slightly larger than the padding. When I was first opening the diaper, I thought it was a pad to stick in underwear. The rear side panels are normal sized, but have long elastic tabs to pull around your waist and Velcro to the front panel. The elastic isn't really strong enough to hold the diaper in place. It fell off in the morning as I walked to my bathroom. The sizes are also very large. I should have asked for a medium, not large. Most medium diapers fit, but are not comfortable, large fit better. These though are way bigger around the waist. They are single tabs on each side, but are very lightweight.
  14. I got in touch with CptKirk, thanks, he gave me some information, including the VA hosptial that he gets them through. I called the VA back and the Pharmacist told me that when she attempted to get NorthShore added to the National list it was rejected within a minute. Also other pharmacies have had the same thing happen.
  15. @Slomo I heard back from the Pharmacist. She explained that she is limited from ordering from a certain group of "medical suppliers," and can't just order from a website. She did find a cloth backed Molicare, but I'm afraid it won't be as good as the Tranquility. She is going to continue searching. I joined Spandi and DMed CptKirk and mentioned you, please vouch for me if he asks. The Pharmacist mentioned that all their computers got flagged for inappropriate websites while searching for adult diapers.
  16. I have the glasses, two pair actually one for distance, one for reading. No problems with getting them. I have a knee brace too. I even have a Rollator, the Physical Therapist just grabbed one out of storage and gave it to me. No prescription, no doctor's note. Just grabbed one. Yep, and I explained it to the Pharmacist. I even explained that the first Attends pullup I got wasn't even as effective as a Goodnite made for kids. She agreed. I actually talked to the pharmacist for a decent amount of time, explaining the problems with what I received. She seemed a bit embarrassed to ask some of the questions she did. Fortunately my Senator is a Vet and on the Veterans Affairs Committee. I'm hoping she can push something through to improve the situation.
  17. I just got off the phone with Ashley from the VA Illiana Pharmacy. She is the person looking into this matter for me. She received a message from my Senator after I wrote her. They are looking into what products they can get. I'll try to keep you informed.
  18. Have you tried talking to a Patient Advocate? They found me someone that knew about incontinence products, or at least what was available.
  19. My situation is generally different than others. I have intermittent bowel incontinence. So on some days the diaper will last all day, on others I go through several in a matter of hours. Admittedly the super poor quality of Attends means it's only going to last a few hours whether you use it or not, the same with the Cardinal Health and some of the others. They just will not stay on, used or not. I currently have a prescription for the Tranquility SmartCore, but I'm using 5 or 6 just because they no longer stay on. If you don't mind clothbacked, try the Why Worry , I was surprised by them. Not the top of the line, but certainly much better than the price would indicate. Someone from the local VA Pharmacy is supposed to get in contact with me. I'm hoping I can get either NS MegaMax Lite, BetterDry or BeDry. Those will last until I use them.
  20. Well this is what I have. I didn't look for the lowest price for these. So you might find them cheaper, nor is any sale or discount applied. So shop around. I received two diapers from Wellness; one blue, one white, but nothing to indicate exactly what they are. The mass is dry in grams, total mass. The NorthShore Supreme is their oldest design and I believe uses a thicker, this heavier backing, which is why it is heavier. I believe that the BetterDry is also a bit heavier in the backing Sadly from what I remember, the Molicare, Abena, and Tranquility diapers haven't changed for years, if not decades. For the most part you get what you pay for. A few are overpriced, but a couple are better than the cost would indicate. The Why Worry sold on Amazon seems surprisingly good. The BeDry and BetterDry would be worth trying too. And yes the XXL Goodnite is heavier than the adult Attends pullup.
  21. I've reached out to a number of retailers about what kind of plastic backed diapers they carry and have received a rather short list. Many of these I've acquired with a few more on the way: (yes some are cloth backed) NorthShore MegaMax Lite NorthShore Supreme NorthShore MegaMax NorthShore MegaMax Airlock Lite Forsite AM/PM Abena L4 Tranquility Slimline Tranquility ATN Tranquility SmartCore* Cutie PlusU (relatively cheap sample through Amazon) Why Worry Maximum (morbid curiosity) Egosan Maxi (relatively cheap sample through Amazon) BetterDry Attends Ultimate* seni Quatro** Wellness Superio*** Wellness Softisco*** I have a Mega Inspire+, InControl BeDry, and hopefully the plastic backed Molicare on order. I know Trest, Sunkiss, and a bunch of AB diapers are also out there. Sadly I cannot find samples or the samples are just ridiculously priced. For the most part you get what you pay for. Most exceptions are overpaying for what you get. There are a rare few that appear to be better than the cost. *The Tranquility SmartCore and Attends Ultimate I got through the VA. Sadly the Tranquility are the best available and there is allegedly one worse than the Attends. **I was told these were plastic backed. ***I ordered a sample pack, eventually I received two unlabeled diapers, one white, one blue. I have no idea which is which or possibly something else. Customer service is horrible.
  22. You are confusing Institutional diapers with medical diapers. Institutional diapers are those sold to Nursing Homes, Hospitals, and other long term care businesses. Medical diapers are designed and sold to the public for incontinence. ABDL diapers designed for the ABDL market. Until Bambino came around there were no ABDL diapers, and The Bottom Half Group sold a plain white diaper identical to the Bambino, except for decoration, as a medical diaper. MegaMax may blur the line between ABDL and Medical Diapers, it was designed for a medical purpose first. Whereas Little for Big, Rearz, Tykables, ABU, and others were designed for the ABDL market. Perhaps a better term would be Incontinence Diapers, as opposed to ABDL Diapers. But the ones used in hospitals and nursing homes are Institutional Diapers. So MegaMax is an A grade Medical diaper, NorthShore Supreme would be B grade. Abena C grade, Tranquility D grade, and Depends F. Attends are Institutional F grade, at least the ones I got.
  23. Not necessarily true. NorthShore Supreme are considered medical diapers. Bambino used to, I don't know if they still do, sell a diaper identical to the Bambino under a different name through a completely separate website. They also sold "Institutional" diapers, which is what you are labeling as "medical grade." Medical diapers are simply those that are being marketed to the general public, as opposed to the ABDL market. Some may be of interest to the ABDL market, but that isn't the primary market. NorthShore, last year was advertising during Chicago professional sports radio broadcast. Those ads weren't targeting the ABDL market. Please remember that I am looking for something for bowel incontinence, so I don't need the absorbency level of MegaMax, or BetterDry, or any of the other ridiculous diapers.
  24. Technically the NorthShore are medical diapers, and a few others. My problem is with bowel incontinence, so I don't need the massive absorbency. I need something that will stay on, and contain the mess.
