About Me

Hello🫢, I am a Retired Army who worked right up to the week I got Covid I believe I got it from my wife as her four ladies went to a meeting and she came down sick she was hospitalized but she was in a ward. I got sick a day or two later It was a bad cold! I put off doing anything for four days and on Sunday I was so sick I called my son to come get me and take me to the hospital. Yes, I had Covid they signed me in and put me in a ward. The next morning a Team of Doctors woke me up and I guess the lead doctor says Mr. you are going to DIE! He asked a bunch of questions I agreed to be a guinea pig. Then they put me in a Coma! They called the wife the whole time I was in the hospital. They told her the whole time I was in ICU to be prepared for my passing as the Dr. did not think I would make it. two and half weeks later I was in a private room. After a few days I would be a little more lucid they removed the catheter. By the time nurses could get to my room gown and wear all the safety crap I would be laying in a cold wet bed sometimes for 30, 40 minutes, or an hour. The night nurse asked me how long I was waiting and I told her but that was not the problem when I had to go it was now there was NO HOLDING sometimes even I would wet myself and realize it until feeling a wet cold bed. Mind you this was Nov. & Dec. after a few days of this and my favorite nurse back to work. She walks in with a hand full of Diapers and I had a choice sit, lay in a wet bed. or the nurses would diaper me up. The Doctors questioned me on this and some tests were done. The Doctor that said I was going to die said that Covid has me Incontinent, my left leg is numb with neuropathy, my right foot is numb and I have neuropathy in it. He also says I should get back to my old self in time. After I came home I tried to wear Pull-Ups those leaked. So I tried Diapers at night which is working after some adjustments and trial and error. The pull-Ups went by the wayside a while ago after some embarrassing leaks. Pretty bad thinking a few years ago I was a Sr. NCO in the Army and was to the kids in PT and even a few in Combatives. LOL! Now it is August of 2023 and I wear Diapers and Plastic Pants 24/7 and the neuropathy has not changed over time. Oh yes, my taste buds are not the same and my smell is not the same.   My GP has not said anything about my Incontinence in my file from when I was in the hospital I see my GP in a month or so and will ask him what he thinks. I have read in a couple of other blogs about people being Incontinent from Covid and they have not changed or gotten better control of their issues either.😵‍💫 Blogs like this have helped me I wear it 24/7 I go shopping I go to meetings I am an officer in a couple of groups. So I have not let this little wetting issue hold me back or get me down. I manage diaper use just as I would any other issue. Thanks for the time to write this.
