Hi all, I join as I'm new to being reliant on diapers

Hi everyone,

I've always had issues with needing to urinate more than average.
A couple years ago it got more frequent, and I wore diapers for a time until I had to move out of my own place, and I found it awkward when living with others so tried to manage without them.
Recently though, it got much worse fast, and found myself going to the toilet 6+ times an hour, so am now wearing diapers and everyone is being very accepting.
I do find it difficult that even with diapers I still struggle to urinate unless I'm standing up, means things like car journeys still get really uncomfortable, but still, diapers are helping a lot at most times.

It's been difficult for me being reliant on diapers, as I am new to managing when going out in terms of when/where to change & hygiene, learning how many I need, budgeting etc.
So, I mostly came here for that type of support, and general emotional support, and to support other where I can.

I'm still going through tests to find the medical cause for what is going on.

Thanks all, see you around the Forum!

Hi and welcome. Glad to hear you're seeking treatment from your doctor. What diapers have you been using? Hopefully it isn't Depends or some store brand.

Thanks! Ive been using Tena Ultima Slips, need a booster as well to get me through the mornings.
I'm looking at trying some other ones that are both cheaper and hold more from the site I buy from.
Those are all breathable and cloth backed, which I've found is more necessary for my skin since I've has to start relying on them/wearing all the time.

It would be helpful to have some like Northshore or something similar of high capacity to help manage at times, but they're out of my budget atm.

Are there any you'd recommend, for both high capacity and budget?

I recommend Betterdry/Crinklz, or Northshore Megamax USA V2. Either one works incredibly well, usually without needing a booster and with fewer changes, and less leaks in between changes. All of which reduces their overall per-day cost.

I have had my eyes on better dry, and it sounds like they're about the right absorbancy for my routine, but hard to get a hold of them atm.
