Valentinesstuff
I realize that bowel incontinence is much rarer than bladder incontinence, but I don't think I've seen one ad for an adult diaper mentioning it. And I see a lot of ads. Even going to company website, if they have a product recommendation quiz, they never have bowel incontinence as a choice. Trying to find out if a product is even recommended for bowel incontinence can be a major hassle as it's generally hidden in the fine print or listed as a after thought. It's becoming both frustrating and annoying. Depressing too.
Slomo
I was just talking about this on SPANDI. Based on the ads we get, all types of incontinence can be managed with thin pillups. It's literally at the level of marketing propoganda. I've even come across enough sites that literally state their pulkups are recommended for maximum absorbency and overnight use. An obvious lie of ever there was one. Personally, I can only recommend a few different types of diapers for any type of heavy urine and/or bowell incontinent. Northshore Megamax, Sunkiss Masterpiece, or Betterdry/Crinklz.
david49
I found this video from the Abena brand, featuring a special diaper for fecal incontinence; it seems to me that the leak guards are wider. I don't know if it's still available. https://youtu.be/BuNrs2yR2R0?si=pDSiagmeVbdEdqo4

chestnut
The topic of bowel incontinence isn't popular, but those who are completely incont. - urine and bowel - make up a significant part of population - 5%. there are a lot of disabled individuals in this category. Diabetes, ms, cp, epilepsy, muscular dystrophy, autism, spinal injury, neurogenic injury. And there are older people also, though total incont. is more common in younger ages - because it may come from an accident or congenital disease. Many briefs such as molicare blue plastic, wellness superio, abena m4, tena ultima, and tranquility are good for this situation. Always get plastic backed - except for seni - which is probably the first brand to try - the green, purple and red absorbencies. You will want to trim closely or shave the diaper area in order to clean up. Using an electric razor laying or standing with soap suds creates an easy way to shave a few times per week. You will also want to get a whole bunch of diaper covers - plastic pants and other support garments like a singlet or onesie or suspenders. Gary and carer are good brands. Keeping the diaper close to the body will allow you to forget about it and not move in an awkward way. Also, drink liquid chlorophyl and other internal deodorants work well. I would use a barrier cream but note that it stays on even after a shower so you don't need to apply more than once a day. these creams can also dissolve the leak guards and cause leaks and accidents. And they make clothing and plastic pants greasy. But you gotta use some barrier cream. I would avoid powders because they get in the air and can also make tapes fail.

Tena and Seni are so-so mediocre, but Molicare, Wellmess and Tranquality are all bare minimum diapers. Just barely enough to work. I highly remommend better diapers like Betterdry day Northshore Dupreme, or maybe the new Megamax lite. They are very thick, so don't expect to be wearing the same one all day. But they still perform much better against leaks and blowouts.
Valentinesstuff
I've reached out to a number of retailers about what kind of plastic backed diapers they carry and have received a rather short list. Many of these I've acquired with a few more on the way: (yes some are cloth backed) NorthShore MegaMax Lite NorthShore Supreme NorthShore MegaMax NorthShore MegaMax Airlock Lite Forsite AM/PM Abena L4 Tranquility Slimline Tranquility ATN Tranquility SmartCore* Cutie PlusU (relatively cheap sample through Amazon) Why Worry Maximum (morbid curiosity) Egosan Maxi (relatively cheap sample through Amazon) BetterDry Attends Ultimate* seni Quatro** Wellness Superio*** Wellness Softisco*** I have a Mega Inspire+, InControl BeDry, and hopefully the plastic backed Molicare on order. I know Trest, Sunkiss, and a bunch of AB diapers are also out there. Sadly I cannot find samples or the samples are just ridiculously priced. For the most part you get what you pay for. Most exceptions are overpaying for what you get. There are a rare few that appear to be better than the cost. *The Tranquility SmartCore and Attends Ultimate I got through the VA. Sadly the Tranquility are the best available and there is allegedly one worse than the Attends. **I was told these were plastic backed. ***I ordered a sample pack, eventually I received two unlabeled diapers, one white, one blue. I have no idea which is which or possibly something else. Customer service is horrible.
chestnut
I get tranquility smartcore briefs from my insurance. They are designed for full time use and are fairly discrete and quiet. I need reminders to know when to change them.
