  1. Yes I have seen my primary care and a urologist while wearing a diaper. Neither of them have ever said anything negative, but both mentioned that wearing “briefs” should only be a temporary solution for my issues until we can figure out a permanent solution. I’m not sure if it was to make me feel better, or if it was disapproval of me wearing diapers though.
  2. @Brian Wow it sounds like the past couple of years have been a rollercoaster as far as supply availability. Much like the rest of the US has been lately 🙄 I have been using the European style Tena Slip Maxi, then the Ultima when the Maxi was sold out from my normal supplier. So they were not the US models, you are correct that the US Tena Slips are cloth backed. I used to be able to use the cloth backed diapers, but lately I need the better odor control and leg guards provided by plastic backing 🙁 It really sucks to hear that there are ebbs and flows in product availability, and that many manufacturers are changing to cloth backed. But I guess that is the case with any manufactured product, there’s bound to be shortages at some point.
  3. Does anyone know if the plastic backed Tena Slip Maxi/Ultima have been discontinued? They used to be my go-to daytime diaper and now it seems they’re out of stock everywhere. Really hoping it’s just a temporary supply chain issue and not a permanent situation…
  4. My situation is different from others, but due to other side effects of my chronic illness, I am able to swim during my pool’s “therapy hour” so I have tried many different adult swim diapers. My favorite is the Gabby’s Swim Diaper, it just fits me really well and I like how the Velcro strap on the front does not catch on my swimsuit: https://www.mylilmiracle.com/products/gabbys-adult-swim-diaper?variant=32070088360071 My second favorite is the Splash About Shorts. They are snug, comfortable, and have nice leg and waist seals: https://www.splashabout.com/splash-shorts-adult-black.html I really wanted to like the SoSecure, but they just don’t fit me as well as the two swim diapers listed above. But they are popular and as those above me have mentioned, definitely worth a try! Yes I have had accidents while in the pool. Yes it’s humiliating and yes people have noticed. But the good news is, no one has ever said anything to me (probably because almost everyone else swimming during the hour is also wearing swim diapers). My swim diapers have always contained my bowel accidents… Well maybe not always contained, but I have never had fecal matter escape into the pool. If I do leak, it usually creeps out the leg seals once I get out and start walking to the locker room. Anyways, good luck with your search! Trial by fire is sometimes the only way to truly learn 🙃
  5. Hello from the windy Midwest! I am a young adult who has been recently diagnosed with a chronic illness, that has incontinence as a side effect (among many others). I am working with professionals on treatments, but have not found “the one” yet so in the meantime I try to stay positive and active. I love to draw, visit cool new restaurants, do yoga, and travel! I am hoping to meet some like minded folks, or at least some others who are dealing with incontinence while also trying to live a full life. 😁
