Hi all, I've got some questions about good fit.

I've been using Tena Ultima Slips so far.
They seem pretty good. Leaks are very rare. The tapes are good enough, though if I use a booster I do also add duct tape due to the swelling.
They are also very practical for every day use - walks, runs etc.

I do have some questions/concerns though.
They don't have the highest rise and usually sit just below my belly, it is generally better for security if they do up around the waist? I've not had an leaks yet, but need to be conscious of if my issue gets worse.

I went for a run in a diaper that was a quite full, when I started running it started leaking between the legs, is that something that should be an issue, or something to be expected?
The other is when my diaper starts to fill up at the back about 1/3 of the way, it does leak out the sides when I sit down, is that to be expected?

	Thanks all!

For EAST coast veterans. Has anyone ever gotten decent diapers from the VA? And if so, how?

I've tried a few times over the years, but have always been told I can only get what their pharmacy dispenses. I can get them easy enough, but what they have is all medical-grade crap you can't pay me to use.

Please note. I am aware the WEST coast VA does allow for drop shipping via outside vendors. Unfortunately that is under a different contract, so it does me no good.

It's possible that I may be able to get external catheters through my Doctors'. I don't think they would be suitable to every situation, such as running or long walks (depending on how much the leg bag holds), so I would still need to use Diapers at times.
It seems though it could be great to have when I am at home, perhaps more convenient and save me money as well.

Does anyone have experience with external Catheters? I've noticed they're generally not a preference, and am wondering if there a particular reason for that which I haven't already noted.

	Thanks all!

	Hello all!

I am a high school student working on a study about continence products. For the past year, I have watched my mother care for my grandmother who has incontinence and I want to help. I know how difficult it is not only to experience incontinence, but also to care for someone who does. Figuring out how we can reduce stress and increase quality of life for everyone involved is super important.

All you have to do is fill out this survey that takes 5 minutes. It is completely anonymous and no identifiable data is collected. Your perspective is important and should be heard.

Thank you so much in advance for helping!

I'm about to do some research. I'm trying to find out which plastic backed medical diapers are worth it.

I've contacted LL Medico, Healthwick, and Carewell asking what they carry. The list is:

	Tranquility ATN

	Tranquility Slimline

	NorthShore MegaMax, Lite, and Supreme

	Abena Abriform L4

	BetterDry

	Mega Inspire+

	InControl BeDry Premium

	Seni Super Quatro

	Wellness (the NASA brief)

Of these, I've used recently the NorthShore brands. In the past I've used the Tranquility ATN, tried the SlimLine, Wellness, and used Abenas. I think I have tried the BetterDry too. I'm pretty sure I have not used the Senior, InControl or Mega Inspire.

I'm sure that there are others, Forsite for example (which I've also tried).

Does anyone have any further suggestions, for either retailers or plastic medical diapers, please no AB diapers?

It's kind of sad the list is so short.

Who else has found themselves to be in between sizes due to a change in your weight? And did you ever find a way to better adjust their fit, or did you have to find a different brand?

I've used Large Betterdry/Crinklz for years now, but lost enough weight that I can't get as good of a fit any more. The tapes don't overlap at all, but they do extend just past the elastic at the legs. And that has led to leaks at least 1 or 2 times a week.

Of course I've tried their Mediums too. While I am well within the recommended sizing, I find they do not extend up past my hips/belt line (leading to leaks over the top while laying down). And even when tapped loosely, the cut of the legs make ot fit tight enough to start cutting into my skin.

Out of luck, I did just attend a convention where I had the chance to test out multiple other diaper brands. Most of the ones which use a tape landing zone still don't work for me (@Northshore, please make a Megamax version with 6 tapes). But 1 cloth like disposable from Potty Teaining Dropouts just might work. More testing is required though.

Don't forget about wearing rubber pants. They are less common nowadays but should supplement "plastic" pants in the wardrobe of anyone who is bowel incontinent.

I will stress that I do not mean rubber pants as a fetish item. Rubber is better at containing odor, particularly fecal odor, than plastic pants (of a similar thickness).😀

Often I wear either rubber pants or rubber bloomers during periods when I think I may be at a greater risk of a bowel accident. In such instances I wear rubber pants over a pair of plastic pants. This gives me a "second line of defense" against a fecal leak and, if I experience a bowel accident, it (hopefully) protects the rubber garment from being soiled.

Why bloomers? The legs on bloomers come down the thighs below plastic pants. That helps to catch leaks. It also is easy to change where the legs of the bloomers make contact to avoid skin irritation.

I always hand-wash my rubber pants and hang them to air dry. They have lasted a very long time.

	Hi all

People must be getting sick and tired of me (sorry, my autism and trying to get all the info I can, as well as no professional support regarding Diaper information, as most professionals in Australia, have no idea other than the standard crappy cheap cloth-backed medical) even less knowledgable on plastic-backed as 98% of diapers here are cloth backed.

I am trying to find a good, not so much noticeable day diaper.

	Needs
4 Tape (I prefer hook and loop/velcro): I never used tapes and was forced to use cloth. I Backed from (2009 to 2023) until I found a supplier of Bambino, which will no longer be distributed here.
5000ml+ (I try to change 4-5 hours). I am not sure how hygienic it is. I will ask the urology nurse on Monday.
Plastic Backed

	Nice to have
Wetness indicator to know when I am close to capacity (as I have no feeling of bladder as well as everything is compressed with plastic pants and snapped onesie)

Please reply below with which brands may apply to me based on their experiences.

Tykable Lil Builders (not sure how noticeable under clothes they are)

Rearz Mega Barnyard (11000ml sounds like a night diaper and too thick)
ABU Dinorawz (Stock issues I am reading in forums as well as communication issues regarding invoicing)

BeDry Incontrol EliteCare (10000ml sounds like a night diaper and too thick)

	Am I missing any?

Thanks

I currently wear https://littlesdownunder.com.au/shop/bloomeez-adult-nappy/ due to plastic-backed as well as fitted Bambino fitted my needs with ease of velcro enclosure but now I am fully incontinent and need a larger capacity.

As I need something more practical, do you have any recommendations? I am a 42inch

Larger capacity at night (plastic-backed)
Same or slightly larger capacity during the day (prefer indicator so I can tell when the diaper needs changing)
Also, I would like a wetness indicator (to know when to change) as I am new to full incontinence as I was overfill incontinent (with bleeding hammeroids)

The bambino no longer fits my needs, as I recently became fully urinary incontinent. Unfortunately, professionals here in Australia don’t know as much about products, and only two stores in Australia sell plastic-backed (ABDL-focused) ABU Australia and Down Under Care/Littles Down Under (a third-party importer had issues with stock in the past, which thankfully always have enough protection in stock).

Only two stores that sell Plastic backed diapers in Australia are unfortunately ABDL Focused 😢 mainly just depends Tena,Abena etc cloth backed which I am allergic to (hives, excessive sweating) as well as sensory issues due to my Autism (hypersensitive to smell, sags etc)

I am working with a company that have 2 nurse practitioners with highly disabled autistic children that didn't know Australia had plastic backed until I showed them mine when they did my assessment for my government disability funding (I get all my disability needs funded incl Incontinence) but still need to be cautious of pricing if I can.

	Many thanks

I have moderate incontinence and am looking for a reasonably absorbent underwear to be worn under a waterproof cover. I know disposables will do the job very well but I don't like the having to add to the landfill and the expense. Right now I am using Wearever and Petey's but would like more absorbency.

My go to washable underwear for catching daytime leaks and dribbles are the Carer M66 briefs. The underpant is soft and comfortable, form fitting with a nice pouch for men's anatomy. Absorbency is perfect for my light dribbling during the day; while not being bulky at all. It definitely looks and feels like underwear and could go unnoticed in any environment unless you take them off revealing the white absorbent pad inside. Pad covers the front, and partially up the back to catch leaks when sitting or laying down as well as when active. I like these pants a lot!

I am looking for quality reusable underwear for men that hold a reasonable amount of fluid. I have tried Wearever, Petey's, Carers all of which leak. I am not totally incontinent so still want to be able to use the toilet when I can get there, i.e. boxers won't work. I have contacted Salk as my waist is between sizes and don't know if they run on the small or large side.

I'm writing this because I wanted to ask a very serious question, and I know that we will be able to talk about the best products. in my case I would like to find out what the best swim diaper would be. I'm not sure how you would use such a swim diaper, but I know that a swim diaper is used to keep the fecal matter contained within it, while allowing someone to use the diaper for urination and have that stay within it as well.

from what I understand, you put a swim diaper on, and then you're supposed you're supposed to be able to use it, and anything that comes out is held tightly in that swim diaper.

So I ask this question: what is the best type of swim diaper for someone to be able to swim?

i've heard of rules in pools And I'm not sure exactly if they allow people to swim if they have incontinence and they use swim diapers, but I'm not sure exactly how you would approach such a question to be able to find out if it's OK to be able to swim if you're using a swim diaper. I know that a swim diaper does not work like a plastic backed diaper or a cloth diaper, because that's not what it's designed for, but I would like to find out the best swim diapers to use, because I want to make sure that if I have to swim or I want to swim, I keep myself active while also not allowing my incontinence to stop me from doing what I want to do. I can't help help the fact that I'm incontinent, and I've always been taught that if you have a problem, you try to find a solution to fix it, sometimes things are not fixable, but having a swim diaper would be more advantageous I think, because then I would be able to swim without worrying about what I release.

I'm lucky that I don't have zero control of bowel movement, but I'm not sure exactly how safe it would be if I didn't wear a swim diaper considering that I have been releasing when my body. Tells me to

So how do you go about getting quality swim diapers that can hold what they're supposed to hold? I'm wondering if a swim diaper is supposed to be something that is supposed to seal all the way around, so that you can be in the water and not be worried about what you are releasing.

	Thoughts?

I have been wearing diapers for approximately four years. during this time, I've tried a lot of different products, and many of them do not even hold a candle to what a true diaper, defined by me as a plastic backed padded apparatus with tapes. additionally, this device needs to be absorbent enough to be able to handle almost anything that is thrown at it. in my opinion, the North Shore Care megamax, as well as a good many of their products which I use, are integral and an essential part of my management strategy.

north shore really knows what a diaper is. it is not something that you use when you dribble, it is not something that floods after you end up letting out letting out a little bit of urine. A diaper is something if done right, where a person who is severely incontinent like me can actually unload as much as you can without having it leak under the floor. i've learned strategies for example so that I don't flood when I use the diaper, but I end up pacing it so it doesn't overflow. many times people will just let it go and they can't stop, and as long as they can't stop they run the risk of actually flooding it out. I learned that with a cheap diapers, and realize that I needed the good ones.

when I did some research, with the help of Vermont Medicaid, they told me that I needed to choose five brands of diapers that I wanted to use, and I chose the Mega Max and the North Shore Supreme as the two diapers that I liked. the Mega Max, I was told was for people who are severely incontinent and needed full protection both both. I also did some research by calling North Shore Care and asking them questions. from my experience Norshore cares Mega Max's are the best diapers around, because you don't have to worry if you have to use it right away, and it is built to absorb whatever you're keeping the smell and the leaking to a minimum. I've used the Mega Max when I had to use it, and in situations when I didn't have a choice, and every single time the megamax works well for me.

I also used their North Shore Supreme diapers, And I find those to be my second favorite. Aid, they can accommodate what you need to release, they have the proper odor control, and they're made properly so that they don't fall apart. Many people don't understand what a real diaper should be, it should be a diaper that holds whatever you can release or whatever you have to release, rather than to be something that only lasts a couple of hours at maximum, when we all know that those diapers probably don't even last five minutes sometimes. they always say that you need to change a resident Every two hours, but the products they use aren't even worth $0.02, And that's where insurance companies make their money cause they end up peddling things that don't work.

I can tell you that North Shore Mega Max is and North Shore Supreme Diapers are my top two diapers, And I would use them if necessary and I wouldn't even hesitate. They know how to make a diaper and they know what the community needs. we need more companies that understand the needs of their, rather than the needs of insurance companies who always seem to be able to make the most money from our necessity of being able to deal with incontinence in an appropriate manner.

I have also ordered the Garywear diaper covers and the trifecta diaper covers that are made by North Shore. these garments are awesome, they help contain whatever you are holding, and they're quite comfortable and you don't even really know that you're wearing them If you pull them up tight enough so that they cover your entire diaper. The lead gathers are big enough and haven't enough stretch to be able to allow for the area to be sealed so that you don't leak all over the place, but as any diaper, if they can't handle it, the pants usually take care of what releases from the diaper you. you also have to make sure that your diaper cover seals up completely so that you don't have any weird and unnecessary weakening. i've had no problems with either of these, and I believe that I have enough to lash me at least two years!

I also use the North Shore disposal bags: these replace a product that North Shore was actually having to purchase. They make these, and the ones that they make are dark blue, And they also have a pretty pleasing scent. you can place a diaper in this bag, along with any wipes or anything that you have to eliminate, tie it off and throw it into a container or take it out with you. when I'm at home, I throw that into my jenibel can, because it has the can liners. These have been awesome because you can OK so that it doesn't smell as bad as it as it could if you didn't take care of it right

One final thing that I use from North Shore is there large wipes! these things are 12 by 9 I believe, And they put every single adult washcloth that is made to shame common because it's big enough to be able to handle a messy situation, and big enough so that you can hold on to the entire wipe on the backside without any issues. They also can catch anything that is in need of being cleaned or being held, so you can clean up very easily. being quilted they can do that very very easily. I know some people may say to me that I'm a fan boy of a north shore Product, but these work well for me, and they haven't let me down, and the customer service and the people that work there are top notch, as well as the owner Mr Adam Greenberg. he really understands what it is that people need and understands that a diaper is not something that should be built to last two hours or less, but to be comfortable and help someone remain mobile happy dry and confident as well as having their dignity and their privacy maintained. the better the diaper, the better the reaction for the patient or for the user.

So as far as Megamax's in North Shore products go, I am very satisfied with them. I give them all an A Plus, because of the products themselves, the customer service, the speed of their shipment, and the willingness to help you when you run into a situation that you need help with, And I'm also very proud of the fact that my supplier in New Hampshire can deal with them quite easily, and if there was any problem with an order, that could be dealt with through North Shore rather than dealing with a third party like Amazon. North Shore really knows what they are doing, and I am very happy with everything that I have used, I also use their boosters which is I have found very very helpful and needed, because you never know when you might have to use them when you are doing you are doing something long term and unable to change right away.
