Went to Dr on Monday and he told us that I have a combination of things. He said that due to my sleep apena I am sleeping so deep that my body is voiding urine without conscious thought. In that I don't wake up to go. He said that that is causing my body to "UN-potty train" itself, combined with that my body produces more urine than most and this is causing my issues. He gave me samples of VESIcare to try for a month, then I go back and see him. It is not much but at least I know something now. Anyone have anything similar and if so has it improved.
Thanks,
John

John,
I have heard also that sleep apnea can cause nighttime bedwetting. My urologist tells me that at night my brain and muscles don't communicate so I end up doing the same as you, urinating in my sleep without waking. Also years of UTIs have weakened muscles and caused stress and urge incontinence. Vesicare is an OAB med...but DDAVP (Desmopression) is sometimes used when the body produces a lot more urine than normal. It helps to concentrate the urine. It only worked, as did the OAB meds for a short time before it "pooped" out on me. I have tried every OAB med known to man..as well as the DDAVP for about a year. The DDAVP only partially stopped the wetting. I still had wet nights, so I had to still wear protection. I don't like meds personally, but that doesn't mean they won't work for you. Good luck to you.
