So the results of my barium x-ray came in last week (by the way, the barium did not taste that bad - its like a slightly sweet chalk milkshake, but I would prefer not to have to drink one again). My Gastroenterologist said they found nodularity and a possible fistula where my small intestine meets the large intestine. This is why it did not show up in the colonoscopy (because the problem is in the small intestine). The doctor briefly told me that he thinks this is caused by Crohn's (not IBS as he thought was the case earlier). It would explain all my symptoms, and at least we are making some headway. I have to do another barium x-ray (this one is the barium enema

which does not sound pleasant at all

... In reconsideration, I will take another barium shake please!

).
Has anyone had a barium enema, is it as bad as it sounds? I was also wondering if anyone knew what nodularity of the small intestine was exactly? I did not have time to ask the Gastroenterologist (and thought I could find info online, but there is not much available for this condition).
Thank you for any light you can shed on this
